This is a six week, beginner friendly pottery course for preteens ages 9-12. This course will start off by teaching students the basics of throwing clay on a pottery wheel. The instructor will give step by step demonstrations teaching students how to perform pottery techniques such as centering clay, pulling walls, shaping a cylinder, and more. Students will go beyond the basics of throwing clay, and will learn how to trim, carve and embellish their ceramics to give them a personal touch and a professional finish. This class also covers glazing and will teach students how to add beautiful color to their ceramics. Students with previous pottery experience may also participate in this course to further develop their pottery skills! All supplies, materials, and firing services are covered in this course.
